If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you’d know that my We-Vibe Tango (whom I refer to as “Tango”) has pretty much become my sole partner. I used that motherfucker all the time. However, Tango and I are having problems, and I believe it’s come to a point where we need to go our separate ways. “But what will replace my favorite toy?” I asked myself. As if it was fate, the We-Vibe Rave then came into my life.
After playing with the We-Vibe Rave, my Tango better get its shit together, because I think it’s just been replaced.

How It Works
According to the accompanying instruction manual, the very first charge takes two hours. Afterwards, each charge should take ninety minutes. To charge the We-Vibe Rave, take the pin-looking side of the USB cable and push that into the center of the engraved circle above the controls.
While the We-Vibe Rave is charging, a purple light will blink on an off. The toy will be fully charged when the light stays on.
To turn on the We-Vibe Rave, press the center button once. When you take your finger off the button, the Rave should start rumbling. To turn the Rave off, press and hold down the center button for a few seconds.
Similar to the Lovehoney Desire Rabbit, the upward and downward arrows are responsible for controlling the intensity, while the center button allows you to move through each setting. If you want to increase the intensity, press and hold down the upward arrow until you reach your desired intensity. Do the same with the downward arrow if you wish to decrease the intensity.
As stated before, the We-Vibe Rave has a total of ten settings.
That’s one speed and nine patterns. Again, the up and down arrow controls allow you to adjust the intensity of each setting as you see fit.
Setting 1: The default steady rumble.
Setting 2: A series of quick pulses (“veepveepveepveep”).
Setting 3: A slow escalating and de-escalating rumble. If you haven’t read any of my other reviews, I usually compare these patterns to the sound that motorcyclists make when revving their engines.
Setting 4: Two slow pulses, followed by quick ones.
Setting 5: This one starts off with a slow series of pulses, but then quick pulses. The quick pulses are very similar to the second setting. It reminds me of how a machine gun sounds when it goes off.
Setting 6: The sixth setting is very similar to the third one. However, the escalation and de-escalation is much slower.
Setting 7: This one starts off with a series of little quick pulses. After a few seconds, the intensity of the pulses get louder.
Setting 8: Imagine the eighth setting as if someone took the very first setting and sort of put little “blips.”
Setting 9: I like to call these type of patterns “octaves” because they always start off at a low rumble, then jump to higher ones, kind of like how a singer will go up and down octaves.
Setting 10: Two quick pulses, then a low rumble. After a few seconds, the pulses increase speed.
Once you hit the center button, the We-Vibe Rave will turn off. If you happen to turn the toy off at a certain setting, that’s the setting the Rave will start on once you turn it on again.
- Very easy controls
- The charging cable isn’t magnetic
- The dark purple is gorgeous to look at
- Although the Rave is asymmetrical, I find that this makes it easier for me to adjust the toy to my body (more on this later)
- The Rave is very, VERY firm, which could be off-putting for those that are a bit sensitive
- The fact that the Rave is so firm and has quite a curve makes thrusting a bit uncomfortable at times
- I also find that holding the Rave while lying on my back for clit stimulation can wear my wrists out
But then again, that can be said for any sex toy.
Although the curve of the toy can wear my wrists out after awhile, I find that it also makes it pretty easy for me to wedge my way between the fleshier parts of my vulva.
- Rumbly, yet quiet vibrations
- The asymmetrical shape makes it easy for me to maneuver the toy to hard-to-reach spots on my genitalia
- The silicone never feels like it drags across my vulva, which makes it easier for me to adjust the toy accordingly
- Upon insertion, I do feel fairly strong g-spot stimulation due to the curve of the shaft and the rumbly vibrations
- When used internally, I find that the vibrations numb my g-spot after awhile
- The super-firm material can be uncomfortable at times, especially when I do quick thrusts
Seriously, the Rave has pretty much replaced my Tango at this point. However, it still doesn’t seem to do much for me internally.
Overall OpinionThe We-Vibe Rave is a great toy.
The Rave has surprised me in terms of how much I love using it clitorally. The vibrations are so rumbly that I’ve been able to orgasm every time I’ve used it. But what I’m especially surprised with is how the asymmetrical shape doesn’t overwhelm me right away. Unlike the We-Vibe Tango, the Rave allows me to take my time and slowly build up momentum. Right when I feel I’m about to reach orgasm, I’m able to take the toy away for a few seconds, then start up again without completely desensitizing my clitoris.
I also love how I can use it as a hand of sorts. Whenever I want to move away from the tip of my clitoris, I just move the tip of the Rave in circular motions like I would with my hand. The rumbly vibrations touch other parts of my vulva but are still able to travel up my glands, never completely muting the clitoral stimulation.
I can see why We-Vibe is becoming a favorite in the sex blogging community.
